LennyTunes is Jaffa-based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Lenny Ben Basat. For more than three decades he has produced records, performed live and written for screen, working with musicians across pop, jazz, Arabic and electronic music. His own records draw on all of it: live-recorded electronic music built on instruments from the Middle East and North Africa, much of it played by him, and recorded and mixed in his studio in Jaffa.

Named with a nod to the British biscuit and recorded almost entirely live in Jaffa, the record picks up directly where Fine Sands left off. Across six tracks, qanun, bansuri, Bedouin ney and a violin taqsim by Bashir Assadi meet North and West African percussion, vintage synths and a 1960 Fender Jazzmaster. The music runs from melodic and hypnotic to raw and psychedelic, held together by percussive drive and the feel of live performance.
