LennyTunes · Biography Updated 19 October 2026 ONE LINE Jaffa-rooted, high-fidelity music spanning organic house, cinematic electronica, belly-dance and global instrumental forms, shaped by live instruments, Middle Eastern maqam, North African rhythm and analog studio craft. SHORT LennyTunes is the artist project of Jaffa-based composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Lenny Ben Basat. His high-fidelity, live-driven music moves between organic house, downtempo, cinematic electronica, belly-dance and global instrumental forms, shaped by Middle Eastern maqam, North African rhythm, regional instruments and analog studio craft. Behind the project is more than 30 years of international work across records, live performance and screen music. LONG Lenny Ben Basat, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, has spent more than 30 years in studios and on stage, most of them making records for other people. LennyTunes is where he makes his own. Raised on Kibbutz Hatzor, Lenny began as a drummer, studied jazz in high school and took his first professional studio job at eighteen. From there, his work moved through bands, recording studios and stages. His production credits include co-producing Avishai Cohen’s gold-certified “Sensitive Hours” and producing “Two Roses” with Avishai Cohen and Lars Nilsson, recorded with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. For “Le Sens de la fête,” directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, he worked with Avishai Cohen on recording, production and mixing. He composed the original score for the Ophir Award-nominated short film “Dina Malul Osa Milchama.” The melody he co-wrote for Riff Cohen’s “Dans mon quartier” was later adapted as Simge’s “Miş Miş,” which spent four weeks at number one on Türkçe Top 20. The LennyTunes catalog began in 2019 with The Bellydance Superstars, a lo-fi tribute to the live belly-dance clubs of Jaffa in the 1960s and 70s. Since then it has moved through ambient music, Arabic pop, the musical traditions of the region and a series of live-driven electronic releases. Fine Sands passed a million streams, “Mahabula” from Jericho appeared on Buddha-Bar XXVIII, and Jaffa Cakes (2026) took the sound deeper into club territory. Working from his studio in old Jaffa, Lenny approaches musical traditions as living languages that shape the composition, not as color added at the end. The same principle connects his own catalog, his production work and his music for film.
